Highway To Hell
It’s 2am on the 25th of April. Many soldiers went to war. I was shaking uncontrollably . I was crammed in the landing boat like a tin of sardines. The soldier next to me was desperate to kill someone. I was thinking are you crazy but I didn’t want to say anything.
I smelt gunpowder. I saw a misty cloud of gunpowder rising in front of me. Oh no I thought. Everybody dived out of the boat onto the beach to avoid the rain of bullets pounding down on us. Some soldiers died straight away.
What could I do? I waited in the landing boat with Lucas. Lucas and I heard screams all around us. I got my gun ready. So did Lucas. We heard footsteps getting closer and closer. Our fingers were on the trigger. Lucas fired his gun first. It went right through the Turks head. There was blood pouring out like an endless waterfall. I turned to Lucas and said “We are on the Highway to Hell!”

I am learning to write an interesting recount.
I am so proud of making my recount interesting by using similes and adjectives.
It can be tricky to the right adjectives for the right sentence.
My buddy can help me by checking my work.
The next step for me in my learning is to write an even better recount.
